Power yoga is a style of yoga derived from Ashtanga yoga. It is characterized by the Sun Salutations and a series of postures that focusses on building strength and flexibility. During the practice the yang postures are synchronized with the breath. This combination of breath and movement calms your mind in this yang society. You will soon feel calmer, healthier and more balanced. Even though the classes are accessible for everybody and every level, power yoga might be a little more challenging.
This dynamic and playful class is a combination of the asanas and flows of the last week. So you will start your weekend feeling rejuvenated, energized and at ease.
In this practice we use active (yang) asanas in combination with more passive (yin) asanas to stimulate and improve the flow of energy running through the meridian path ways of the body.
Meditation has been practiced for ages and scientific research has proven over and over again the many benefits this practice has for our overall health and wellbeing. Therefore you are welcome to join this meditation class free of charge. Experience doesn’t matter, just drop by if you want to join and experience the powerful effect of meditating together. 30 minutes of stillness will already impact your wellbeing, so these sessions are definitely worth a regular visit.
Yin yoga targets connective tissues, such as ligaments, tendons and joints and stimulates organ health. In order to target the yin tissues, the postures must be held for at least 2-5 minutes. While staying in a pose we may come to a point of significant resistance. Yin yoga will take you outside your comfort zone. However, much of the benefit from the practice will come from staying in this zone, despite of the mind’s urge to leave. In this class there is also more focus on meditation and pranayama.
